Meriwether Weekend

We spent Friday, Saturday, and Sunday at the family's favorite boy scout camp, Camp Meriwether, participating in Scouters' Work Weekend with Val, Jim (aka Ma and Pop), and 'cool uncle' Bill (aka stick-in-the-mud). Lots of projects were accomplished and we survived the food for the most part, so it was a pretty productive weekend. And except for Bill spitting on John over the railing in our cabin, we stayed relatively clean.
Katherine, aka Pookie, has gone through several growth spurts lately, and I haven't quite caught up yet, meaning my diaphragm/ribs are very bruised. I'm soooo looking forward to this summer...no school and being able to breathe normally!

Easter Season is Here

Wow, we've had a busy Triduum this year. It all culminated in the baptism of Julie at the Easter Vigil! Both of us were honored to be her Godparents and to lead her through this most momentous time in her life. I was almost shaking introducing her to the community before her baptism. People who know me will say this is not normal. I'm usually very calm in front of large groups. However, with one of my close friends about to undergo such a radical change in their innermost being... it was an amazing thing to be a part of.

Of course, that was just the beginning, as she then was confirmed and received first Eucharist!

Oh, and we finally get to sing Alleluia again!

Congratulations Julie and all the other neophytes!

New Picture

Here's a picture of Michelle and me so that people can see how big she's getting. She actually looks a little bit bigger in the picture than she does in life because of the angle.
(click picture for a bigger version.)

We're really excited for Katherine's arrival in a few months, and things are slowly getting ready.

Beautiful Day

We've had several beautiful days now. So I'm going to stop looking at this dang computer screen and go outside. Later!
